Asset packs in the desktop app
Before you start
- Stay online, and sign up and log in (so your rights follow you when you change computers).
- Install the LmBox Bridge desktop app.
- Unless you have a "full deploy" membership, have the pack's registration code ready (or have redeemed it in the user center).
- A pack is normally an unzipped folder. If it is an archive, unzip it to a fixed location in Finder / Explorer first, then add it as described below (do not drag the archive itself in as a folder; the app does not unzip it for you).
Video demo
The same video as the getting started guide. This page starts it at 02:39, from membership redeem and pack install (until about 03:32).
Sign up and log in
An account keeps your activation and rights, so on another computer you can still use the packs you registered with the same account.
Open LmBox Bridge, go to User center, then sign up and log in.
Install and activate a pack
Open the Media library group in the sidebar and switch to the page that matches the pack type (sound effects, motion graphics, LUT, project and so on).
In the asset list on the left, add the pack in either of these ways (one is enough):
- Use the button: scroll to the bottom of the left list, click "Add folder or extension pack", pick the already unzipped pack folder in the system dialog, and confirm.
- Drag it in: drag any of these into the left column and release (same effect as the button):
- the whole folder of the pack;
- the
.vipbinmarker file or thepack_report.jsondescription file inside the pack (if your provider gives one).
A commercial pack takes one path at a time (one folder or one of the single files above). Repeat for more packs. Do not select a commercial pack together with normal asset folders in one go, or you are asked to add them separately.
If the app decides a registration code is needed, an input box opens. Paste the code and click Activate.
After a successful activation, the pack shows up in the left list. Click its cover or title to open it and use it.
Full-deploy memberships
If you hold a full-pack membership or another tier that already covers "full deploy", you normally do not need to enter a code for each pack. Redeem or confirm your rights on the membership pages first, then add the packs as above.
Keep the pack in a fixed place
After a successful add, the app remembers the pack's path. Try not to move, rename or delete that folder, or the pack may not open on the left, or you get a "file not found" message. If you need to change drives or tidy up, note the path first and add the pack again the same way afterwards.
Switch packs
LmBox Bridge splits assets into several libraries by type. First go to the page that matches the pack type, then click the cover or title of the pack on the left to open it.
Remove a pack
Removing cancels the link between the pack and LmBox Bridge. It does not delete the folder on your computer, and media already used in your projects does not usually go offline. Use it to tidy the list or to prepare for a newer pack.
At the bottom of the left list, on the same row as "Add folder or extension pack", click "⋯" on the right to enter delete / tidy mode, then click the delete icon next to the pack. When you are done, click "Done" (if shown).
